About

When your Aruba vacation needs a break from the crowded beaches, head to the northeast coast and dive into Conchi Natural Pool. Far from the typical beachside retreat, Conchi, or "Natural Pool," is an adventure in the heart of Aruba's wild landscapes.

This remarkable lagoon is cradled by volcanic stone formations, shielding it from the roaring Caribbean Sea. It is an essential part of Aruba's history and culture and is a cherished spot among locals, serving as a secret getaway for generations.

Conchi Natural Pool was formed by sea waves sculpting it over centuries, creating a natural barrier that calms the incoming surf. The result is what we see today: a tranquil pool of azure and turquoise hues surrounded by rocky cliffs.

Its remote location in Arikok National Park makes it accessible only by 4x4 vehicles, ATVs, horseback, or a hearty hike. Such adventure is alluring, offering visitors a journey through Aruba's less disturbed countryside.

Despite its growing popularity, this landmark retains its pristine beauty and tranquility, uniquely contrasting it with the island's more crowded tourist spots. For a getaway into the sublime, plan a visit to Conchi Natural Pool and witness this natural wonder in person.

Conchi Natural Pool: Fun Facts & Cool Features

One fascinating aspect is its seawall. The volcanic rock formations act as a fortress, protecting swimmers from the strong ocean currents while allowing smaller waves to refresh the pool with clear, cool water. This phenomenon creates a haven for swimming, snorkeling, and soaking up the sun in a wild and welcoming setting.

Another cool feature, if you look at it from a positive perspective, is the lack of direct road access. For this reason, visitors experience Aruba's rugged terrain up close, whether on a thrilling adventure with ABC Tours Aruba or a peaceful horseback ride.

A cool feature for outdoor lovers is hiking to the pool. Hiking experts consider the 4.5-mile round trip to be moderate to challenging. Expect to see cacti-studded deserts, hidden coves, and wildlife on your trek. The hike can take anywhere from 2-4 hours, depending on how long you stay at Conchi Natural Pool.

By far, the highlight and best feature is enjoying the pool's waters. The ocean-fed oasis is refreshing after a long hike or ATV drive, and the rocky surroundings are ideal for sunbathing. Thrill-seekers will spot the volcanic outcroppings near the deeper end of the pool, perfect for launching into the clear water.

Conchi Natural Pool encapsulates the spirit of exploration and offers an unforgettable experience that contrasts with the conventional Aruba beach getaway.
