About

When opportunity knocks in the restaurant business, even during a worldwide pandemic, you jump at it! That's precisely what Executive Chef Douglas MacMillan did when offered an existing eatery with picture-perfect views of the Pacific. The result is Vista Steak and Seafood.

Once Chef Douglas had the restaurant renovated, he turned his attention to the menu. He brought his experience working in high-end restaurants in Northern Italy and his grandmother's eatery, Rosa's Italian Restaurant, to create a limited menu as deep as the ocean in flavor. And since he is also the Executive Chef at Ada's Fish House, he combined his expertise and connections to sourcing the freshest seafood to bear.

As the name implies, Vista Steak and Seafood has an unrivaled view of the ocean. Seating is plentiful at the restaurant and offers unencumbered views of the coastline.

Vista Steak and Seafood is a must-do on a visit to Pismo Beach. The ocean views and cuisine are amazing!

Vibe

Walking up to the entrance, the white and blue sign beckons, while the roofline's neon pink and blue lights add a lively touch.

The dining area is dotted with tables and booths, each with a view of the ocean through the picture windows. Sure, those closest to the windows have the best views, but there's not a bad seat in the house. This is because the layout features tiered tables, ensuring every diner has an unobstructed ocean view.

The decor features simple lines and amenities, offering a clean and sophisticated look that focuses one's attention on the food and the view. The simplicity gives Vista Steak and Seafood a refined atmosphere that isn't pretentious. It is perfect for couples on a romantic date or families and friends after a day at Kelsey See Canyon Vineyards.

Vista Steak and Seafood combines sunset views in a fine dining setting, making it one of the most sought-after restaurants in Pismo Beach.

Vista Steak and Seafood: Menu & Drinks

When your restaurant has "steak" and "seafood" in its title, you had better knock the ball out of the park with your cuisine. Rest assured, Executive Chef Douglas flexed his culinary muscles when creating the Vista Steak and Seafood menu.

The Cioppino showcases Chef Douglas' years of cooking in Italy and with his grandmother, Ada. The tomato-based seafood stew is packed with fresh scallops, tender clams, plump shrimp, flavorful fish, delectable crab, and mussels. It's a bowl of flavor that will dance across your palate.

The steaks offered at Vista read like a who's-who of meat. All steaks are all-natural and hormone-free, ensuring only the finest cuts make it to the customer's table. Diners can choose a Top Sirloin, New York Steak, Ribeye, Filet Mignon, Porterhouse, or Bone in Ribeye. These entrees include rice pilaf, mashed or baked potato, and vegetables. Homemade steak sauces include peppercorn, gorgonzola, mushroom, port wine, and chimichurri.

Additionally, there are salads, a burger, and chicken and pork chop options.

Toast your adventure at Pismo Preserve with something from the beer, wine, or cocktail menu. A signature cocktail worth exploring is The Painkiller. The beverage is a blend of Malibu Rum, Sailor Jerry Rum, Wray & Nephew Rum, orange juice, pineapple juice, and cream of coconut. Nutmeg is sprinkled on top for a taste of Christmas in the tropics, rolled into one sip.

Vista Steak and Seafood checks all the boxes for a memorable meal, so include a visit on your Avila Beach vacation.
