About
On your Cabo vacation, make a beeline for Flora Farms! This facility features a 25-acre organic farm, bakery, bar, spa, and market. Add its breathtaking setting in the foothills of the Sierra de la Laguna, just outside San José del Cabo, and you’re in for an amazing adventure.
This story began with Gloria and Patrick Greene, who purchased acreage to grow organic food for their restaurant in San José del Cabo. But such a vision required a massive amount of sweat equity, such as restoring the soil and planting vegetables without chemicals or shortcuts.
By the late 2000s, the team had a wood-fired kitchen ready to showcase whatever the fields harvested. The restaurant’s opening signaled a new era for San José del Cabo, offering farm-to-table menus centered on weekly offerings.
Within a few years, the farm expanded again—adding an ice cream shop, a bakery making bread from scratch, a lively bar program, and a butcher shop with responsibly raised meats. The farm even introduced hands-on cooking classes and workshops, along with a full-service spa!
Flora Farms follows a closed-loop philosophy: food waste becomes compost, which feeds more crops, and heritage pigs live outdoors on well-tended pastures.
The farm’s proximity to area landmarks makes combining sightseeing with dining easy. For instance, after hitting the waves with Del Cabo Surf or exploring the waters at Estero San José, you’re never far from fresh, organic cuisine.
Flora Farms brings together freshness, simplicity, and a polished experience, making it a favorite for travelers looking for something authentic but refined in Los Cabos.
Vibe
As the saying goes, first impressions last a lifetime. At Flora Farms, your mouth will drop as you pass rows of produce, palm groves, mango trees, and well-groomed gardens. Sunlight filters through wood pergolas, and pastel-colored buildings come together with stone and tin to capture the Baja-country style.
Inside, handcrafted wood tables, woven chairs, and clean-lined linens mix with open shelves and potted herbs. Vintage farm tools add a bit of history, but never crowd the room. There’s an easy flow to the space, with the open kitchen and wood-fired oven as a savory backdrop.
If you’re traveling with children, you’ll enjoy strolling the grounds or wandering the market. Come evening, live music fills the air, adding yet another layer to this diverse farm.
The dining options are flexible, ranging from patios shaded by trees to open-air spots with a view of the crops. Some tables sit under leafy branches, others near the lively bar where you can watch the bartenders create colorful drinks.
Flora Farms: Menu & Drinks
Because the menu changes weekly, we’d be hard-pressed to include everything. But rest assured that you’ll dine on seasonal favorites and some timeless classics featuring homegrown vegetables. The meat comes from its nearby 150-acre ranch, where animals are on diets devoid of hormones or antibiotics and are raised humanely.
One regular standout is the wood-fired Neopolitan-style pies at Mama’s Pizzeria. These feature a thin crust, fresh garden toppings, and creamy local mozzarella.
The Chicken Milanese has also become a favorite with a salad of lemon-dressed arugula and shaved Parmesan. It’s a light, zesty dish that leaves guests satisfied without weighing them down.
The pork chop is another winner, and is juicy inside, perfectly seared on the outside, and seasoned with fresh herbs.
Housemade pastas, like their seasonal ravioli, capture pure, simple flavors with squash and ricotta with a touch of brown butter.
The drinks stand shoulder-to-shoulder with the kitchen. The Farmarita is a creative take on a margarita with fresh citrus and agave for a crisp, clean taste. For those skipping alcohol, the housemade aguas frescas and seasonal lemonades will quench any thirst.
Whether you bring the kids for movie night, grab lunch after a morning at Playa Palmilla, or visit for a romantic dinner, Flora Farms will make an indelible mark on your Mexican vacation.
