About

After exploring the art galleries and boutiques around Plaza Mijares, enjoy a delicious and vibrant dining experience at Jazmin's Restaurant. Its brightly colored decor, laid-back setting, and lively music and cultural dances make for a memorable meal.

Jazmin's began in 1992 as a coffee shop in the Tildillo neighborhood. Araceli Villafuerte was the brainchild of transforming the cafe into a popular dining spot.

Through the years, his eatery blossomed with dining spaces, a lush patio, and live music nights. But at its core was the commitment to keeping the cuisine fresh, using local ingredients, and treating every guest like family.

The go-to dishes at Jazmin's are the bright salsas made daily, guacamole prepared from scratch, and fresh seafood straight from the boats. By the early 2000s, traditional moles appeared on the menu, tortillas were pressed by hand, and seasonal produce played an even bigger role.

Equally important is that the restaurant's inviting patio appealed to art lovers and those on gallery walks. Additionally, the expanded bar included a complete selection of agave spirits, which meant Jazmin's could craft margaritas in every style. Such beverages are ideal after a day in the sun at Costa Azul Beach.

The restaurant remains family-run to this day, ensuring recipes and kitchen techniques are continued. From grilling on the comal to toasting chiles just right, quality stays at the forefront.

Vibe

The brick adobe-style building with its open-concept gives diners front row seats to the street's activities. Such proximity is a plus during the evening when street performers and musicians serenade guests.

The setting is homey, with simple wooden chairs and tables and a low ceiling. The interior walls are stone except for an occasional brightly colored accent wall. These touches made the atmosphere feel warm yet lively.

Adding to the decor are hand-painted tiles, vibrant pottery, and bright woven fabrics, adding plashes of red, blue, and yellow throughout the areas. This fiesta-like vibe will appeal to groups celebrating a fun-filled day at Playa Palmilla and those looking for a laid-back meal.

To sum up, these features make Jazmin's a top pick for those wanting an authentic dining experience on their Cabo vacation.

Jazmin's Restaurant: Menu & Drinks

Aside from its location in the art gallery district and its vibrant ambiance, the menus will appeal to various palates and group sizes.

The breakfast items are ideal for those seeking a hearty meal before exploring landmarks like Misión San José del Cabo. While you'll find staples like oatmeal, eggs Benedict, and omelets, standouts include the Molletes. This Mexican classic features Chorizo bread with refried beans and melted Monterey Jack cheese. Pico de gallo and avocado come on the side to add the right amount of seasoning and textures.

For lunch and dinner, begin your dining adventure with the house salsas and a bowl of made-to-order guacamole. When you're ready for the main course, a dish that stands out is the mole enchiladas. These come in a complex sauce of chocolate, toasted seeds, and chiles for a finish that's rich but never too heavy.

On the seafood side, the daily is always a winner with either a zesty garlic-lime butter or a savory Veracruz sauce of ripe tomatoes, olives, and capers. The fajitas are also noteworthy, with succulent strips of beef or chicken, peppers, and onions. Add in the house-made tortillas, and you have a heavenly meal.

On cool Cabo nights, steaming bowls of tortilla soup or shrimp and corn chowder warm up the meal. Vegetarians don't miss out, thanks to chile rellenos and plates of grilled vegetables paired with bright salsas.

The extensive beverage selections will appeal to those traveling with children or adults seeking agave cocktails. Fresh juices, smoothies, milkshakes, and soft drinks are refreshing after a hot day of exploring.

If you love tequila, try a pour of reposado or añejo for a spirit-forward sip. Smoky mezcals are also available and pair with any of the entrees.

When you combine the menu's tasty entrees, generous portions, and festive decor, adding Jazmin's Restaurant to your Cabos vacation itinerary is a no-brainer.

Frequently Asked Questions

Los Cabos is the name of the municipality at the southern tip of Baja California Sur. This includes the municipal seat of San José del Cabo, where the international airport is located, as well as lively Cabo San Lucas. The eastern part of the municipality, East Cape (Cabo del Este) is situated between the Gulf of California and the Laguna Sierra range.

Certain beaches in Los Cabos provide terrific spots for swimming or snorkeling, though strong wave action along much of the coast is more apt for surfers. Medano Beach in the center of Cabo San Lucas offers calmer waters, or take a boat to Lovers’ Beach on the way to the Arch to enjoy calmer waters. Near San José del Cabo, Playa Palmilla features the most swimmable option for many.

Los Cabos has some of the best surf breaks in Mexico. While the area has welcome surf spots year-round, the peak surf season is from May through October. Intermediate and advanced surfers can expect larger and warmer waves at spots including Monuments, Cerritos and Zippers. From November to April, Costa Azul and La Playita have smaller and cooler waves, which are just right for those signing up for a surf lesson to catch a Cabo wave.

If you want to be central to all the shops, restaurants, and action in Cabo, we recommend staying in the Medano area (Downtown).

We recommend staying near Zona Hotelera if you want convenience and centrality to all the action!
