Events in Cabo
Los Cabos lies at the southern tip of the Baja California Peninsula in the Mexican state of Baja California Sur. The municipality is comprised of the two towns of Cabo San Lucas and San Jose del Cabo including the Corridor. The Corridor, a twenty mile stretch between the towns, lies at the edge of the azure waters of the Sea of Cortez. With its warm, dry climate and yearly 300 plus days of sunshine, it is the perfect location to enjoy golden beaches, golf courses, wildlife, festivals, fishing, whale watching, and more.
Festivals
Music is a way of life in these festive towns. Fiesta de La Musica is annually held in downtown San Jose del Cabo in June. The Fiesta de Cabo San Lucas is a St. Luke’s Day celebration of dancing in the streets, music, and other events. Festival de San Jose del Cabo is another religious festival held annually. Parties, music, a carnival, and parades are included in the festivities on several days in March.
Los Cabos events are fun and memorable, but Casago vacation rentals may create the greatest memories of your vacation. Relax and unwind in our deluxe contemporary homes, condos, and villas that include amenities such as private pools, hot tubs, firepits, poolside barbeque areas, fully-equipped kitchens, washing machines, and clothes dryers. Enjoy magnificent ocean views by choosing one of our Cabo San Lucas or San Jose del Cabo vacation rentals. Booking the perfect rental is simple; however, leaving it is not.
Whale Watching
Year-round Los Cabos events abound with happenings to please nearly everyone. The months of October through April is the most likely time to spot whales just offshore. Eight of the world’s 11 whale species swim to the Sea of Cortez to breed and nurse their young. Whale watching tours are available, but not necessary for catching their frolicking acts. They can be seen from water taxis, wave runners, or even from one of the beaches.
Fishing
The Cabos municipality, known as the marlin capital, hosts annual fishing tournaments that draw international competitors. The summer tournaments are Pelagic Triple Crown of Fishing Summer Slam, Annual Stars & Stripes Fishing and Golf Tournament, East Cape Dorado Shootout, and Bisbee’s East Cape Offshore Tournament. Fall anglers can participate in these tournaments: Annual Los Cabos Billfish Tournament, Bisbee’s Los Cabos Offshore Tournament, Bisbee’s Black and Blue Marlin Tournament, and Western Outdoor News Tuna Jackpot Tournament.
Running, Shopping, Markets
Land lovers can also enjoy Los Cabos events. In February, runners can participate in the Los Cabos Half Marathon. If walking is your preferred speed, there is much to be discovered in this vacation paradise. The San Jose del Cabo Art Walk every Thursday evening from October through June is a must-do. Explore the galleries and shops on Obregon Street behind the church and town square from 5-9 p.m. Every Friday between November and April shoppers can browse the Farmer’s Market at the Shoppes at Palmilla located in San Jose del Cabo. Organic produce, arts and crafts, artisan loaves of bread, and other prepared foods are available for purchase.

Frequently Asked Questions
Los Cabos is the name of the municipality at the southern tip of Baja California Sur. This includes the municipal seat of San José del Cabo, where the international airport is located, as well as lively Cabo San Lucas. The eastern part of the municipality, East Cape (Cabo del Este) is situated between the Gulf of California and the Laguna Sierra range.
Certain beaches in Los Cabos provide terrific spots for swimming or snorkeling, though strong wave action along much of the coast is more apt for surfers. Medano Beach in the center of Cabo San Lucas offers calmer waters, or take a boat to Lovers’ Beach on the way to the Arch to enjoy calmer waters. Near San José del Cabo, Playa Palmilla features the most swimmable option for many.
Los Cabos has some of the best surf breaks in Mexico. While the area has welcome surf spots year-round, the peak surf season is from May through October. Intermediate and advanced surfers can expect larger and warmer waves at spots including Monuments, Cerritos and Zippers. From November to April, Costa Azul and La Playita have smaller and cooler waves, which are just right for those signing up for a surf lesson to catch a Cabo wave.
If you want to be central to all the shops, restaurants, and action in Cabo, we recommend staying in the Medano area (Downtown).
We recommend staying near Zona Hotelera if you want convenience and centrality to all the action!
