Getting to Cabo
By Air
Most travelers to Los Cabos arrive by air. The Los Cabos International Airport is located conveniently 8 miles from San Jose del Cabo. Cabo San Lucas is only 23 miles from the airport. Domestic and international flights allow travelers from throughout the world easy access to the area.
By Land
Some travelers from the Southwestern United States choose to drive down the Baja California peninsula. Getting to Los Cabos by highway is straightforward. Mexico 1 or the Transpeninsular Highway begins in Tijuana. The trip takes 20 hours, but the beautiful natural sights along the way make the drive worth it. Be aware that the highway twists and turns through the desert, and be sure that you carry enough water, food, and a spare tire for the journey.
By Sea
Another popular way to get to the area is by taking a cruise. Many popular cruise operators have service between Mexican and American ports and the peninsula. Taking a cruise to Cabo San Lucas is one of the most relaxing ways to get there.
Getting Around
Travel between the airport and our Casago vacation rentals is easy. Local ground transportation is available at the airport. In addition, airport shuttles, taxis, and car rentals are all handy. Renting a car may be the easiest way to get around the area, but with our rentals located conveniently to top attractions, you may not need one. Some of our vacation rentals are located in the historic Old Town area of San Jose Del Cabo, while others are located on the beach.

Frequently Asked Questions
Los Cabos is the name of the municipality at the southern tip of Baja California Sur. This includes the municipal seat of San José del Cabo, where the international airport is located, as well as lively Cabo San Lucas. The eastern part of the municipality, East Cape (Cabo del Este) is situated between the Gulf of California and the Laguna Sierra range.
Certain beaches in Los Cabos provide terrific spots for swimming or snorkeling, though strong wave action along much of the coast is more apt for surfers. Medano Beach in the center of Cabo San Lucas offers calmer waters, or take a boat to Lovers’ Beach on the way to the Arch to enjoy calmer waters. Near San José del Cabo, Playa Palmilla features the most swimmable option for many.
Los Cabos has some of the best surf breaks in Mexico. While the area has welcome surf spots year-round, the peak surf season is from May through October. Intermediate and advanced surfers can expect larger and warmer waves at spots including Monuments, Cerritos and Zippers. From November to April, Costa Azul and La Playita have smaller and cooler waves, which are just right for those signing up for a surf lesson to catch a Cabo wave.
If you want to be central to all the shops, restaurants, and action in Cabo, we recommend staying in the Medano area (Downtown).
We recommend staying near Zona Hotelera if you want convenience and centrality to all the action!
All Casago Vacation rental properties are kid-friendly. However, our vacation rental properties do not allow pets.
