Legend has it that a wealthy man built the incomplete mansion at El Miro to be a residence or hotel. Although he never finished building it, it is now home to local stories, like being haunted by ghosts that protect the land. The fragmented building is three stories tall and consists of expansive balconies, white pillars, and a grand staircase. Hiking to El Miro, remnants of the mansion’s archways peek through creeping vines, proof that nature is reclaiming its landscape.

Getting There
- Take the highway past Jaco towards Quepos.
- Drive or walk to the Delta Jaco gas station between Playa Jaco and Playa Hermosa on Route 34 (Carretera Costanera Sur.)
- Follow the entrance signs across the road from the gas station.
- There are parking spots across the street on the highway.
