About

Loggerhead Park is a small pocket park on Hollywood North Beach Park, named after the Loggerhead turtles inhabiting the area.

It is quaint and quiet, with access to the Atlantic Ocean. Many hail Loggerhead Park as one of the best beaches in the area for its chill vibe. This atmosphere is perfect for sunbathing, families, and relaxing near the surf.

One focus of the beach is protecting the endangered Loggerhead turtles. Safe habitats are provided, and certain areas are off-limits to visitors.

A few Adirondack chairs are on site, and some picnic tables are near the palms. A restroom is available, although it’s closed for maintenance at times, so check online to confirm before arriving.

The park is near beachside attractions like Hugh Taylor Birch State ParkBeach Pavilion at Lauderdale-By-The-Sea, and Fort Lauderdale Beach. Such proximity makes combining multiple attractions into a day trip easy.

When your vacation needs a less populated beach, plan a visit to Loggerhead Park.

Loggerhead Park: Fun Facts & Cool Features

One attractive aspect of this charming beach is the absence of towering condos and apartments. Instead, on either side are private homes, making the park feel secluded and less crowded. Remember that beaches on either side may be private and off-limits.

Because of its beauty and privacy, Loggerhead Park is popular for weddings and other special events. Without highrises nearby, it’s ideal for scenic sunrises and kite surfing.

Another marvelous feature is that entry into the ocean is gradual, like the surrounding beaches. The result is calmer waves and currents, making swimming enjoyable. Keep in mind that there are no lifeguards present, so swim safely!

When your crew gets hungry, visit any of the nearby eateries. A few blocks north of the park is Greek Islands Taverna, offering fresh, Mediterranean-inspired fare. Equally close is Etna Rosso Ristorante, serving authentic Italian cuisine.

Loggerhead Park is where you bring your family or friends for a memorable day in the sun and surf. You can enjoy a picnic at one of the tables, search for seashells, splash in the waves, and build sandcastles. All of which would make a Fort Lauderdale visit outstanding!
