About

The Spot is your one-stop-shop on Galveston Island! Featuring 5 concepts in one, you're guaranteed to find what you're looking for here. This is the perfect place to go when your group is feeling a bit indecisive. Conveniently located on the Seawall, you'll find that this multi-level establishment gets pretty busy and lights up at night! Additionally, you get beachfront views all around. There are also plenty of HDTV's around the restaurant so you can catch the game. It can't get much better than this.

The 5 venues in this spot include:

  • The Spot Restaurant
  • Tiki Bar
  • RumShack
  • Squeeze Ritas & Tequilas
  • SideYard

Each venue has a different drink menu offering all sorts of delicious drinks - take your pick! The food menu is shared throughout the building, but there are tons of options.

The Building

Back in 1998, the founders purchased the lot. The undeveloped lot with vacant homes was set to be demolished, but the founders saw the potential in the space and location. Today, they've become Island Famous. An all in one destination for families, couples, locals, and visitors alike!

There is plenty of space throughout the Spot. Between all the establishments, we'd estimate there are around 200 seats available. Don't quote us on that, but basically this is a large business!

The Tiki Bar, RumShack, Squeeze Ritas & Tequilas, and SideYard are all concept bars. They each offer their own unique look, atmosphere, and appeal! Whatever vibe you're looking for, you'll find it at one of these spots. The food menu at each concept remains the same, but there is a lot to choose from.

Values & Giving Back

At the Spot, the team believes in seven key values. These values include commitment to hospitality, teamwork, quality, value, cleanliness, speed, and making it happen! In addition, this establishment commits to giving back to the local community. As part of their mission to make a difference, they hold FUN-Raiser days to raise money for schools and organizations. Further, they generally support causes related to children and education on the Island.

We recommend ordering these favorites at the Spot:

Shrimp Kisses

This is a famous finger food at the Spot and around the island. Shrimp is stuffed with pepper jack, wrapped in bacon and placed on a bed of crispy onion strings. Great for sharing!

Sweet & Spicy Burger

The Sweet & Spicy Burger is a must try here! It was even featured on the Travel Channel. The famous burger comes with smoked gouda, fried jalapeno strips, lettuce, house-made bacon jam, and BBQ sauce. All of the burgers come with a side of delicious waffle fries.

Uncle Bill's Famous Shrimp Po-Boy

Shrimp Po-Boy's are very popular in Galveston! The one at the Spot should definitely make your list. Served on a house-made po-boy bun, it's dressed with spicy remoulade, lettuce, and tomatoes.

Sweet Tooth?

The amount of alcoholic beverage options available is limitless at the Spot. However, not everyone can indulge in a cocktail or beer! If you have a sweet tooth or kids, The Spot offers hand-spun milkshakes and ice-cream downstairs by the entrance.

Local Tips

  • There isn't much parking in the parking lot; however, there is a public parking garage directly behind the lot.
