Keeping the pier family-friendly is one of their priority values. This means that any lewd or overly intoxicated individuals will be removed from the area, without refund.

There is no running on the pier or sitting/climbing on the railings. This is for your own safety and the safety of those around you! Additionally, it is recommended that you wear close-toed shoes. Some forbidden items include tents, grills, glass, cast nets, and drones. For a full list of forbidden items, visit their website.

Pier Guides & Passes

Passes to the pier are sold daily - you must purchase the ticket on the day you plan to go to the pier. They are only valid until close on the date of purchase. If you're not sure if it'll be a good day to fish, view the live pier cam on the website for a better idea.

The Galveston Fishing Pier prides itself on knowledgable and passionate guides! If you're looking for a full education experience, we recommend booked the 2 hour guided fishing class. The price of this class can range from $40 + $10/participant. This is a great option for families to get a general education on fishing while doing a family activity together! Keep in mind that bait, gear rentals, and pier entry is sold separately. Also, these classes must be reserved 48 hours in advance.

Bike & Board Rentals

Bike and board rentals are available here! For a bike, you can rent for as little as 1 hour or as much as 1 full day. Prices begin at $10 for one hour. However, there is a $200 deposit per bike. We highly recommend a bike ride with your partner or family, it is a smooth stretch of sidewalk along nearly the entire island. It's perfect for a relaxing, group activity. As for boards, the cost starts at $20/hour including a deposit.

The Seabean

Known as Galveston's only seaside espresso bar, the Seabean is situated at the entrance to the pier. They offer all sorts of lattes, hot teas, and hot coffee. Additionally, they have over a dozen sauces and syrups available to customize your beverage. For the kiddos, they even offer hot chocolate. A stop here is definitely in order on a cooler day at the Pier. Conveniently, the Seabean is open 24 hours.

Jimmy's on the Pier

Offering fresh seafood and the best views in town, Jimmy's on the Pier is a local favorite! Some of the popular starters on the menu include spicy crab balls, loaded beer cheese fries, and pretzel bites.
