About

Looking for a unique, memorable, or romantic way to experience Galveston? Try from hundreds of feet above ground! Galveston Helicopters has various island tours that offer incredible views you can't get anywhere else.

Keep in mind that this activity is weather-permitting. Additionally, there is a weight restriction on the helicopter. In order for the helicopter to support the weight of the group, each individual on the tour must weigh under 285 lbs. Either that, or the overall helicopter weight of all passengers must be under 600 lbs. Please check website for updated pricing.

Great Value Beach Tour

The most affordable of the tours is the Great Value Beach Tour. This tour will take you over 7 miles of the island featuring views of the Pleasure Pier and beaches of Galveston. This tour lasts just a couple minutes, but it's great for first-time flyers.

Sea Life Tour

The Sea Life Tour is the best middle ground between the tours which is why it is the "best-selling" of all Galveston Helicopter Tours. On this tour you will fly along the seawall from the Galveston beachfront to the East side of the island and its beaches. In addition, you will be taken on a scenic route through the harbor and shipping channel where you can often spot sea animals! Some of the sea animals you may see include dolphins, turtles, and rays.

Around the Island Tour

Around the Island offers you over 24 miles of scenery. This flight also lasts for about 15 minutes. In the air, you'll be able to spot popular landmarks throughout the city including the Moody Gardens, Schlitterbahn, Paradise Pier, the Cruise Ship Port, and more!

Sunset Tour

The sunset tour is only offered once a day so don't wait to book if you're dead-set on a specific date. This tour experience makes for an incredible surprise birthday or anniversary gift. It's also a very romantic and exciting way to propose to that special person! Additionally, this is the longest tour - taking you around on a 25 mile stretch of the island.

Arriving for Your Tour

After purchasing tickets, you will receive a confirmation email with directions stating to arrive 15 minutes early for your tour. The maps may take you a little further than the address given for the meeting spot. This is because the helicopter pad is nearby, but the pad itself does not have an address. For this reason, we recommend leaving a bit earlier to give a buffer. When you arrive at the meeting spot for your tour, you will find there is ample parking by the gate.

Other Great Tours in Galveston

Let's face it, this activity is not cheap and heights aren't for everyone. If you're interested in a more economic way to tour Galveston, we recommend Duck Tours or the Trolleys.

  • Weight restrictions do apply - either 600 lbs total for all passengers or 285 lbs per individual.
