About

While there are numerous outdoor adventures in Utah waiting to be explored, there's an indoor facility that caters to water enthusiasts year-round. This is the Wasatch Aquatic Center.

The indoor pools began as a grassroots effort in 2009, driven by community members who envisioned a top-notch aquatic facility for Wasatch County.

After several years of planning, community engagement, and overcoming challenges, Wasatch Aquatic Center opened its doors. It symbolizes the community's commitment to providing quality recreational and competitive swimming opportunities.

Equipped with state-of-the-art facilities, it caters to swimmers of all ages and skill levels. There is a 10-lane competition pool, an activity pool, and a therapy pool, each designed to offer unique swimming experiences.

The Wasatch Aquatic Center also hosts the Heber Adult Swim Club, water aerobics, water Zumba, and specialized classes like Water Wellness and Boga Fit, catering to various fitness levels and interests.

The center is close to area landmarks and attractions, making it easy to plan a fun-filled itinerary. The Wasatch Mountain State Park and Deer Creek Reservoir are a short drive away, while the CAF Utah Wing WWII Aviation Museum will appeal to history buffs.

Stellar amenities and seasonal availability make the Wasatch Aquatic Center a must-see in the Heber City area.

Wasatch Aquatic Center: Fun Facts & Cool Features

Greg Tayler initiated the push for a new aquatic facility in response to the rising prowess of the Wasatch High School swim team. The Wasatch Aquatic Center opened in June 2017 and reflects the community's dedication and spirit.

It's a state-of-the-art facility featuring three different pools. These include a 10-lane competition pool, an activity pool, and a therapy pool, each catering to different swimming needs and experiences. The presence of these varied facilities underscores the center's commitment to serving a wide range of aquatic interests and abilities.

The kids' activity area is a highlight of the center. It includes a large play toy equipped with squirt guns, sprayers, and fast slides in a shallow water area, perfect for toddlers. Additionally, a second pool with a basketball hoop and large floating crocodile toys provides endless entertainment for children.

One of the center's unique attractions is the Wibit, a short aquatic obstacle course in shallow water. This feature challenges kids to navigate slippery disks and wet plastic, offering a fun and safe environment for young swimmers to enjoy and learn balance and coordination.

The outdoor splash pad adds another dimension to the center's offerings. Various sprayers and nozzles provide a playful and refreshing experience during warmer months. After your aquatic fun, grab a cone or burger at Dairy Keen-Home of the Train just down the road.

Beyond leisure and fitness, the Wasatch Aquatic Center serves an educational role with programs like water aerobics, water Zumba, and BOGA mat classes. It's also a venue for autistic children and those with disabilities, offering them a space where they can engage in activities without physical limitations.

For a splashing good time on your Utah getaway, add Wasatch Aquatic Center to your itinerary.
