About

Lake Mead Marina is the oldest marina on the water and was purchased in 2008 by the Gripentog Family, who manages Boating Lake Mead. The family developed the marina into one of the largest in the world.

Close to Las Vegas and Henderson, Nevada, Lake Mead Marina facilities has everything for your water activities. They have about 1,500 boat slips, dry storage, two stores and restaurants, marine service, repair facilities, fuel, storage, and rentals.

Anglers can catch striped bass, channel catfish, bluegill, and largemouth bass and will consider Lake Mead fishing some of the best around. And with Lake Mead water activities like boating, jet skiing, kayaking, and paddle boarding, it’s no wonder Lake Mead Marina is at the center.

The Marina Store offers drinks, snacks, accessories, apparel, and nautical nicknacks. After a day of fun in the sun, grab a meal at the floating bar and grill, The Boat House. The restaurant offers salads, appetizers, wraps, and steak dinners. Its 9.5-foot screen makes it the perfect place to watch sporting events.

Boat owners will be comforted knowing that the five marina hoists can lift boats to 60 feet in length for servicing. They can haul your vessel to one of Boating Lake Mead’s facilities if extensive repairs are needed.

Lake Mead boat rentals are available at the marina through Boating Lake Mead. They also offer rentals on Waverunners, kayaks, and paddle boards.

With plenty of Lake Mead camping and RV parks, Lake Mead Marina can be your jumping-off point for all camping and water sports activities.

Fun Facts & Cool Features

Lake Mead Marina was our stop for a day of water sports and fun outdoors. We checked out the store, which was clean, and were glad we purchased most of what we needed before arriving. It’s similar to a convenience store but with more water-related goods and heftier prices.

We snacked on the covered deck while waiting for our boat rental, fed some ducks, and took in the lake’s serenity. The marina was a bit dated and was nothing extravagant, but it served its purpose of supplying everything we’d need for fun on Lake Mead.

I’d reserved a 24-foot pontoon boat for a full day that comes with a full tank of gas, seats ten and has a canopy for shade. The marina provided the safety gear, and with some tips from the staff, we were out on the water in no time.

One tip I got from the staff months before arriving was to sign up for a reservation and then take an online course to get my Boater’s Safety Certificate. Once I passed, I emailed my approved application to the marina and received a card in the mail.

We had a blast out on the water and enjoyed a picnic near Hoover Dam. After a jam-packed day of fun and sun, we headed back to Lake Mead Marina to dock and finished off our day feeding the fish and ducks.

If you’re looking for a relaxing day on the water away from the Vegas bustle during your Henderson vacation, Lake Mead Marina is the place to go.
