Fun Facts & Cool Features
You don’t have to be a big gambler to enjoy the atmosphere of a casino. My husband, who fancies himself a good poker player, tried his hand at one of the tables and lost a hundred dollars in less than five minutes. That was the end of his casino gambling.
I think it’s fun to watch the big gamblers play. It’s a sight to see. People stand around tables cheering on those willing to place bets and throw the dice, just like in the movies.
If you want something low-risk, you can try the penny slot machines. I spent some time at the penny slots until I realized I was in a pattern of winning fifty cents, losing a dollar, winning three dollars, and losing eighty cents. At the end of it all, I broke even and realized I was too invested in protecting a five-dollar bet. It was fun for a while, though!
Then there’s the pool. In my experience, hotel pools are usually quiet or a place families go to tire out the kids. Well, not in Vegas, baby. Everything is big and grand.
The M Pool is a family-friendly area featuring two large heated pools, two hot tubs, and two wading pools. It offers VIP Day Beds, Cabana seating, poolside food, beverages, and entertainment. You could spend the whole day there.
The Dream Pool Club is an adult-only oasis featuring lush landscaping, an ice-railed bar, and an infinity-edge pool.
The M Resort Spa & Casino is the official hotel for the American football team, The Las Vegas Raiders, and there is a dining option on the property called The Raiders and Grill, offering food, drinks, and Raiders memorabilia and merchandise.
Getting There
If you call ahead, the M Resort offers a shuttle service to and from the airport. The Las Vegas Monorail system is a great way to get around the strip and provides day and multi-day passes.
Local Tips
- While the casino has designated smoking areas, some people find the smoke common to casinos bothersome.
- While on the strip, the M Resort Spa & Casino is ten miles from the center. You will most likely want to take an Uber or other transportation to reach some attractions.
- You don’t have to be staying at the hotel to enjoy amenities. Check the website for day pass prices to the pool and spa.
