Fun Facts & Cool Features
Our family faced a dilemma while vacationing in Las Vegas. Where can we go that offers a vibrant nightlife, is family-friendly, has shopping and dining options, and is off The Strip? Our answer was a trip to Henderson, Nevada, to check out The District at Green Valley Ranch.
We lucked out by visiting on Thursday when the Farmers Market takes place on Main Street. Vendors beneath white tents sold organic honey, mushrooms, and other garden specialties. Artisans and vendors were selling various products, too.
My wife was in the mood to "shop until you drop," so she explored stores like Aerie, Lululemon, Pottery Barn, and Bath & Body Works, to list a few. I took the kids, and we checked out the REI store.
As my wife shopped, I killed time by letting the kids play at the renovated splash pad. I relaxed on one of the many benches and basked in the shade of the palm trees.
We regrouped as a family with bellies rumbling and looked over various restaurant options. We considered King's Fish House, Balboa Pizza, and P.F. Chang's before settling on Lucille's Bar-B-Que.
After lunch, my wife treated the kids to Ben & Jerry's while I tried my luck at the casino in the Green Valley Resort. Although I didn't win any money, I had a fantastic experience in this luxurious resort.
With the temperatures getting hotter, we headed for the AC in the movie theater at the Green Valley Resort. Afterward, we strolled around The District, enjoying the outdoor lighting and dessert breeze before returning to our hotel.
The District at Green Valley Ranch gave us a rich day of fun and togetherness and is only a short drive from Las Vegas.

From Las Vegas, get on I-515 S to Henderson, Nevada.
At Henderson, take I-215 W to Exit 5 for Green Valley Parkway
Continue on Green Valley Parkway to reach your destination: 2240 Village Walk Drive, Henderson, Nevada
