About

The Georgetown Winery is a super cute, smaller winery located in the heart of Georgetown. I have been there a few times and simply love the vibe and laid-back feel of this location.

It offers not just some fantastic wine but also specialty olive oils as well (you will want to take a few bottles home with you because I’ve never found another product that was better in terms of quality and flavor).

This winery is located right on S. Main Street, right in the heart of the Williamson County Courthouse Historic District. It’s right across the street, actually.

The company claims it is the first and most awarded winery in the county, and I don’t doubt them. A welcoming location with some excellent products, I have to say coming back time and time again is quite tempting.

The Georgetown Winery isn’t an outdoor space but rather an indoor location to spend some time with friends and enjoy some fantastic wine.

The wines that are made exclusively here are made from grapes produced in both Texas and California. The grapes are brought into The Thirsty Mule, a sister winery for the company, which is located in Liberty Hill, Texas. After going through the bottling process there, they are sent to Georgetown Winery, where you can pick them up and enjoy them.

The outdoor seating makes this location even more special, especially on a warm summer night. It’s wonderful to sit and relax and listen to the live music that’s playing as well.

Vibe

A modern and upscale location, it’s easy to step inside for a sip or two of wine.

It’s bright and airy, and the staff is very friendly. I have to say, they are really a favorite place to stop when walking around the courthouse area because of the uplifting vibe here.

The location is very down to earth. You won’t feel like you have to be an expert to really enjoy what this location offers. Georgetown Winery is too good to miss if you love fruity wines.

Georgetown Winery: Menu & Drinks

When it comes to the wine here, there are a few options to consider.

First, they offer daily wine tastings. Right now, the cost is $15 per person or $18 per person with the souvenir glass. They are open from 11 AM to 6 PM Tuesday through Thursday and then Friday and Saturday until 8 PM for tastings.

Also, if you like live music and want to get your groove on, from 4:30 until 7:30 PM on both Friday and Saturday nights, there’s live music.

Each taster offers you a trial of four wines from the menu, each with about 2 ounces. Plenty enough to sit down with your friends and relax.

And as far as food goes, they have some dessert wines, but there is no actual food here. I suggest coming after eating a meal for the best experience.

Local Tips

  • If you live nearby, join the Wine Club. You pay a fee per quarter or for the whole year. Then, you can try out numerous wines from various area winemakers that are all handcrafted for just club members. A super fun way to be included.
  • They don’t take reservations, which can mean you may have to wait a bit.
  • Come for the music! There are some great local performers who come out and offer three hours of engaging music. You’ll want to dance.
  • Have dinner nearby at one of the local restaurants that are perfectly suited for a night out on the town, and then walk over to Georgetown Winery for an after-dinner drink.
  • The professionals here know their stuff, so be sure to ask them questions and get any insights you need so that you can find the right wine for you.
