Hours

Open daily 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.

Cost

Costs are competitive in the area, but it really depends on what your needs are.

For example, when I was there, it was $300 for a 12 seating pontoon boat for two hours or $850 for the day.

You can get plenty of other options, including water mats, tubes, skis, wakeboards, and kayaks, too. The costs for those range from $35 to $75 per day.

About

Let's say you plan to spend the day on the water with the family and need a boat. Wave Chasers Boat Rentals is the perfect choice in the area for a ton of different reasons.

First, they offer pontoons and Sea-Doo rentals for even the novices of boaters. No real boating experience is necessary to rent one.

Next, you can also rent ski boats, kayaks, and tons of water accessories as well. In fact, they even rent sun visors and sunglasses. How cool is that?

I have used them for trips up to the lake with my family many times, and I have never had a problem with the boats or any of the equipment that I rented from them. All are in tip-top shape.

And any time I have had to call to ask questions, they are super friendly and willing to answer anything. Some really great people work there!

I should note that it is on you to get more gas if you run out. All equipment is rented with a full tank at the start, but if you are a bit overboard when it comes to how you use it, you may run out.

But if you need additional fuel, you have to contact Wave Chasers Boat Rentals for some help. They are great about it. I know firsthand!

Fun Facts About Wave Chasers Boat Rentals

They tend to have several boat options available, with the traditional pontoon and a 23' pontoon. You can also get a Sea-Doo, which is like a jet ski for one or two people. These are super fun!

And they deliver for you! They will deliver to Inks Lake, Lake LBJ, and Lake Buchanan, so you just need to visit the shop, rent what you want, and then wait for them to deliver. There is a $35 fee for delivery, so if you don't need it, then you may not want to use it.

One of the things they just added in 2022 is the water mat. This is a super fun, super-inflated mat that lays on top of the water. I thought it was pretty strange at first because I hadn't used anything like it before.

However, it's a fun way to get a group of people out onto the water to relax and make some cool water memories. You can rent it from Wave Chasers Boat Rentals pretty inexpensively, too.

Local Tips

  • Before you arrive, check their website for any discounts or promotions, as these change throughout the year and are sometimes 20 to 30% off deals.
  • I find that the larger boat is just harder to maneuver, and unless I have a lot of people, I'm going to go with the standard option. They will teach you anything you need to know!
  • Go early and call to make reservations if you want something special. However, if it's the middle of the day and then you decide you want to head out onto the lake, they may still have options available (their inventory is impressive, and some people only rent for a few hours at a time).
  • You have to rent for at least 2 hours. However, you can get a great deal for booking for the whole 8-hour day instead.
  • All is weather-dependent. They don't give refunds for early returns, so plan in advance.
