About

Founded in 2021, Kiri Thai is family-owned and operated and serves authentic Asian fare. It was formerly known as Bangkok House, which opened in 1993.

What is tantalizing is that the chef brought her ten years of running a successful restaurant in Prachuap Khiri Khan, Thailand to the Big Island.

Like Kailua-Kona, Prachuap Khiri Khan is a stunning coastal location. The region produces Thailand's finest pineapples and coconuts, setting the stage for Kiri Thai to bring a slice of this Thai paradise to the shores of the Big Island.

Dining at this eatery is like taking a culinary adventure to Thailand. Conveniently located across the street from Kailua Pier and Kamakahonu National Historic Landmark, you can learn about Hawaiian history and then enjoy a tasty Thai meal.

With a commitment to serving fresh, authentic cuisine, Kiri Thai has become a go-to spot for a taste of Thailand in Hawaii.

Vibe

While the exterior might not grab your attention, delightful surprises await inside.

The interior offers a warm and inviting ambiance that immerses diners in the heart of Thailand. The cozy and intimate setting is perfect for a relaxing meal. It's an ideal atmosphere after a tour or meditation at Kona Cloud Forest Sanctuary.

With a seating capacity of 35, it's no surprise that it gets crowded. But like many fortune cookies promise, "Good things come to those who wait."

The restaurant's interior exudes Thai-inspired decor that sets the stage for your journey. Additionally, the staff is friendly and attentive, adding to the welcoming atmosphere.

The charming and authentic decor adds to the dining experience, making Kiri Thai a must-visit destination for lovers of Thai cuisine.

Kiri Thai: Menu & Drinks

If you like bold and rich flavors, don't miss the Massaman Shrimp Curry. This dish will tantalize your taste buds with its perfect blend of spices and succulent shrimp. The creamy curry sauce pairs wonderfully with jasmine rice, creating a harmonious and satisfying meal.

It wouldn't be an authentic Thai experience without trying Pad Thai, and Kiri Thai does it exceptionally well. This classic dish's delicate balance of sweet, savory, and slightly tangy flavors is a culinary delight. The fusion of flavors will satisfy after a day of sun and surf at Kohanaiki Beach Park or Kikaua Point Park.

For dessert, indulge in the Mango Sticky Rice. It's a sweet and refreshing way to end your meal. The ripe mango perfectly complements the sticky rice, creating a comforting and tropical dessert.

Regarding drinks, Kiri Thai offers a range of options to accompany your meal. Whether you prefer Thai iced tea or coconut milk-infused variations, there's something to quench your thirst.
