Launched in the heart of Memphis in 2002, Central BBQ Downtown serves fall-off-the-bone barbecue enhanced with great hospitality. Sure, they’ll feed anyone hungry for BBQ, but that’s only part of it. Anyone stepping into what has become one of Memphis’ favorite go-tos can expect to be treated like friends.

Located conveniently near iconic Memphis landmarks, including the Blues Hall of Fame and the Mississippi Riverfront, Central BBQ downtown offers visitors an unforgettable experience. Over the years, the restaurant has expanded and has four spots across Memphis, another in Nashville, and even in Southaven, MS.

Craig Blondis and Roger Sapp, founders of Central BBQ, know a thing or two about award-winning slow-cooked smoky deliciousness. The two, who individually were part of competitive BBQ teams, met up on the barbecue circuit.

After competing in the Memphis in May’s World Championship Barbecue Cooking Contest, plus many other local and regional BBQ battles, Craig and Roger joined forces to develop Central BBQ.

Whether you’ve spent the day soaking in history at the National Civil Rights Museum or reveling in live blues along Beale Street, the original BBQ Central local haven is a short walk worth its weight in ribs.

Vibe

The vibe at Central BBQ is more than inviting, it's like stepping into your best-friend’s kitchen. Well, that is if your best friend also made quality, flavor-packed BBQ.
