About

Boudro’s on the River Walk opened its doors in 1986, rising in the culinary scene to become an essential San Antonio dining spot.

The restaurant first went by Boudreaux’s, a nod to its South Louisiana inspiration. It featured Cajun and Creole dishes, many of which are still on the menu. As the years passed, the name changed to Boudro’s, marking a shift to a broader South Texas identity.

One of the things that guests remember most about Boudro’s is the tableside guacamole. They’ve been making it for years, and guests look forward to the show as much as the taste.

Alongside this, the kitchen prepares fresh Gulf seafood and black Angus steaks in ways that let their natural flavors shine.

These reliable qualities are a big part of why Boudro’s has remained a dining hot-spot on the River Walk for more than thirty years.

Its proximity to The Alamo, the Briscoe Western Art Museum, and the San Antonio Museum of Art makes planning your Texas itinerary easy.

After a day of sightseeing in San Antone, celebrate in style at Boudro’s on the River Walk!

Vibe

Boudro’s two-story facade, which blends with its neighbors in this historic district, draws people in with its vintage look. While striking, it is nothing compared to what awaits inside!

The main dining room features warm wood accents, exposed limestone walls painted off-white, and modern tables dotting the carpeted floor. The interior is air-conditioned and welcoming, making it a nice break from the Texas heat.

But the coveted dining spot is along the River Walk! Here, tables dot the patio beside the flowing water. Conversations flow like the current, while patio lights add a festive atmosphere. Nearby, visitors stroll the River Walk and cruise the water on a barge.

Speaking of the river, you can reserve a dining spot on a barge and enjoy a multi-course meal while floating on the canal.

All of these options make Boudro’s on the River Walk an excellent fit for a Lone Star State vacation.

Boudro’s on the River Walk: Menu & Drinks

While Boudro’s serves lunch, we’ll focus on the dinner menu.

A “must-try” starter is the guacamole for two! This appetizer is made tableside with diced avocado, roasted tomato, serrano pepper, cilantro, and fresh lime and orange juices. It’s perfect for replenishing after exploring nearby La Villita Historic Village.

A unique starter is the Mesquite-Grilled Quail, showcasing locally sourced game. The quail comes with pepper jack grits, fried parsley, jalapeño chips, and chipotle demi-glaze.

Moving to the entrees, seafood and steaks are the champions at Boudro’s. The Boudreauz’s Shrimp and Grits is a tip of the hat to the restaurant’s Cajun roots. This comfort-food classic features stone-ground grits with pepper jack and lemon-buttered shrimp. Add the apple-smoked bacon, chorizo, green onions, and roasted poblano peppers, and you have a masterpiece!

Also on point are the seafood dinners featuring fresh-caught Texas Gulf fish, like black sea bass, sand perch, speckled hind, spotted jewfish, and red grouper, to name a few.

Land lovers will delight in the wood-fired steaks. After all, you are in Texas! These range from the 10-oz Texas filet of sirloin with fries, fried jalapeños, and plantains with chimichurri sauce. There’s also prime rib, ribeye, and a 16-oz double rib pork chop.

After a day on the water at Canyon Lake in New Braunfels, celebrate with a craft cocktail at Boudro’s. The prickly pear margarita is a must-try, combining the sweetness and tang of the Southwest in every sip. The bar also stocks an impressive wine and beer list, ensuring something for everyone.

A meal at Boudro’s offers more than food and drink. The riverside views, welcoming staff, and regional flavors combine to give guests an exceptional taste of San Antonio. Dining here brings the spirit of the River Walk and the city’s warm hospitality right to the table.
