About
When your group is craving authentic Lowcountry boils and Southern BBQ, head to Erica Davis Lowcountry!
Our story begins in 1946, when Erica Davis’ grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Russo, sold fresh seafood. With this legacy and a passion for Southern cuisine, she launched her catering business in 2002. By 2015, husband Dwight joined the venture, and together, they expanded the menu and operations.
As the catering business grew, the couple set their sights on a brick-and-mortar location. In 2020, Erica and Dwight transformed a former gas station in Thunderbolt into the restaurant’s headquarters. It serves as a catering hub and a dining destination, offering a taste of Lowcountry classics, like seafood boils, pulled pork, and fried shrimp.
The menu reflects the flavors of Savannah and South Georgia, with family-rooted recipes and fresh, locally sourced ingredients. Speaking of fresh, when it comes to serving oysters, this eatery has it down to a science. They choose oysters harvested the day before, ice them, and serve them the following afternoon. For this reason, Erica Davis Lowcountry is considered one of the best oyster and seafood restaurants in the area.
Whether to or from Tybee Island or after exploring the gravestones at Bonaventure Cemetery, adding a meal at Erica Davis Lowcountry is a must!
Vibe
While the gas pumps are long gone, the building still evokes memories of its days as a gas station. The renovated exterior features rustic charm with painted brick and wood features, large windows, modern signage, and vintage-style sconces.
The exterior’s design elements flow inside, creating a shabby chic setting with industrial touches. The glass garage doors can open during warmer months, adding a laid-back vibe to one’s dining experience. Painted shiplap, warm lighting, exposed ceiling, and contemporary tables and chairs make the room cozy yet refined.
Dining areas feature both indoor and outdoor seating, which is particularly popular, offering a laid-back setting to enjoy Savannah’s mild weather.
The ambiance will complement a Savannah vacation with its blend of family history, culture, and cuisine.
