About
Inspired by Melbourne’s iconic Collins Street, The Collins Quarter masterfully pairs specialty coffee with innovative, farm-to-table cuisine.
Anthony Debreceny opened the eatery in 2014, bringing his Melbourne upbringing and influences to the Savannah Historic District.
He envisioned his restaurant becoming more than just a café and transformed it into a destination for all-day dining. From a morning cappuccino to a mimosa brunch or a craft cocktail dinner, The Collins Quarter caters to a range of tastes.
Following the success of The Collins Quarter, Anthony Debreceny launched Southern Cross Hospitality to expand into other ventures. In 2020, he opened Collins Quarter at Forsyth Park, featuring coffee and a brunch menu. There are sister restaurants, such as Ukiyo, The Fitzroy, Doki Doki, and The Deck on Tybee Island.
While we will explore both, we will use the downtown location for images and contact information. No matter which you visit, the menus feature fresh, local ingredients, showcasing a commitment to a bright, seasonal farm-to-table approach. Debreceny has worked as a chef in various places around the globe, and these influences are reflected in the menu. The result is comfort food with international flair.
No matter which location you dine at, The Collins Quarter is the perfect springboard into a day of sightseeing. Nearby landmarks, such as the Telfair Museums, Chippewa Square, and the Mercer Williams House Museum, are within walking distance. Such convenience makes grabbing a meal before, during, or after easy to plan, making this hotspot a must on your vacation.
Vibe
The downtown location in the Historic District is on a corner and exudes charm with its brick facade, modern picture windows, and sidewalk al fresco dining area.
The inside continues this motif of historical and contemporary blend with its open concept, elevated ceilings, and modern refinements. Natural light pours through the windows, illuminating the crisp interior colors and restored architectural elements.
Dining areas cater to a spectrum of preferences. Street-level and sunken garden-level seating provide options for intimate meals or social gatherings.
The Forsyth Park location has a modern interior with contemporary decor, along with a large outdoor patio for al fresco dining. It's the ideal spot to refresh with a beverage or lunch after exploring the park.
Whether you're enjoying breakfast at the park or dinner downtown, The Collins Quarter delivers an ambiance that enhances any Savannah vacation.
The Collins Quarter: Menu & Drinks
With two locations and various menus, we’d be hard-pressed to list the top picks from each. Instead, we’ll list some crowd-pleasers to give you an idea of what to expect.
Java lovers in search of that morning caffeine fix should make a beeline to either location. You name it, they have it, from lattes, Vietnamese iced coffee, Aussie brews, daily drip…you get the picture!
A popular brunch pick at both spots is the Southern classic Chicken & Waffle. This staple features golden-brown fried chicken on a crisp Belgian waffle with buffalo syrup and mixed fruit. The jalapeno-infused maple syrup unites with the flavors and textures to create a delight for the taste buds.
Also available on the brunch menu are burgers, “sammies,” and a gyro. This Mediterranean handheld fills a pita with tzatziki, field greens, tomatoes, cucumbers, onions, and feta, with your choice of lamb, beef, or falafel. Add a side of fries, and it will satisfy your hunger after a morning exploring The Old Sorrel-Weed House Museum.
A dinner favorite downtown is the Calamarata Beef Ragu featuring tender braised short ribs. The Calamarata pasta also features coffee-roasted carrots and a dollop of horseradish mascarpone. The flavors and textures create a sophisticated entree.
The drink menus at the two restaurants match the creativity of the cuisine. Guests adore the Spiced Lavender Mocha, which is a tasty and decadent blend of dark chocolate and espresso. The added spices elevate it to the next level, incorporating ginger, nutmeg, cinnamon, and lavender.
The downtown location serves beer, wine, and spritzes. An example is the En Plein Air, featuring lemongrass liqueur, mint, lemon juice, and soda for a crisp, herbaceous drink.
Whether starting a morning with a signature coffee or winding down with a sumptuous dinner, The Collins Quarter exemplifies why Savannah is such a highly regarded culinary destination.
